Data leakage is one of the major threats to any business. Inventit™ MobiConnect prevents data leakage in case of loss of a smartphone by remotely locking it or erasing data on the device.
Remote Lock
Remotely locks a smartphone. With the Inventit™ MobiConnect's locking feature, an audible and vibrating alert can be issued or a message can be displayed on the Lock screen when the device is locked (for Windows Mobile 6.5 and Android2.1 only). No operation is allowed with the locked device except for outgoing calls to emergency numbers (plus predefined numbers for some models). This prevents unauthorized operations by a third party in case of a lost smartphone.
Remote Wipe
Remotely erases data on a smartphone. A device with Windows Mobile 6.5 and Android 2.2 or higher can be remotely reset to its factory default setting (only for certain data for Android2.1). It is also possible to remotely erase individual folders or files within a SD card (target contents for erasing may depend on OS). This prevents data leakage by avoiding unauthorized data access by a third party in case of a lost smartphone.
Local Security Policy Setting
The local lock feature setting for the smartphone can be forced to the user. It is also possible to remotely set the password policy for the local lock such as the strength of a password, the number of characters in the password, password expiry and length of time the password entry becomes needed. The policy can be remotely enforced to all the smartphones within the company. By forcing the local lock feature to all smartphones, unauthorized access from a third party can be prevented even when no remote control is allowed for the device.
